4. Green Bay Packers

The Packers found last season that their use of a tight end was really a boost for their team. When Jared Cook started last season, the Packers went 10-3. When he did not play, the Packers were 2-4. Aaron Rodgers saw a great uptick in his production with Cook in the lineup. A tight end opens a lot of space up for the other wide receivers on the outside, and even a guy like Randall Cobb over the middle. However, the Cook happens to be a free agent this offseason as well.

The Packers should look at Cook and Doyle, and think the better option would be Doyle. To start, Doyle is a much better blocker. Doyle can help inline, and provide much more than Cook in the run game, which makes play calling less obvious when Doyle is in the game.

Doyle is also a better pass catching option. Even last season, with Andrew Luck, Doyle was much more productive than Cook, and even with one breakout season for Doyle, he has been a more consistent than Cook. Cook has one season with five touchdowns, just as many as Doyle, and has been in the NFL for four more seasons.

The Packers are going to have to invest in a tight end. If they are going to spend money on a tight end, they may as well go all-in and sign the better option between Doyle and Cook. If the money is similar, the decision is a no-brainer.
