Jack Doyle had a breakout year in 2016. Will it earn him a nice long-term deal in 2017?

It took Jack Doyle three years of NFL experience, but in his fourth season, we really saw what Doyle could do. His first three seasons saw 35 receptions, for 209 yards and three touchdowns combined in seven career starts.

In his fourth season, he started 14 games, caught 59 passes, for 584 yards and five touchdowns. He proved to be a legitimate threat in the NFL and now will want legitimate money. Will that earn him a deal this offseason, and if so, who will be willing to pay for Doyle.

5. New York Giants

The Giants definitely need to upgrade at tight end. Will Tye was the top receiving threat at tight end, but last season he put up one touchdown on 70 targets. Larry Donnell and Jarrell Adams put up one touchdown a piece on 43 combined targets last season. Still getting three touchdowns out of the tight end position just is not going to cut it.

Donnell is a free agent, and Tye will be a free agent in 2017. Tye would be much better off as the second option as the tight end, and adding Doyle would be a great addition. He would be a great option and could be a helper in masking the tackle game, as well as being a much more consistent red zone threat. Doyle had more touchdowns than all of the Giants combined this season.

The Giants are going to have some money, and if they are going to spend, it could definitely be a tight end like Doyle. Doyle could see a great role with a good quarterback in Eli Manning, and it may come at more money than in Indianapolis.
