We know Destiny 2 is scheduled to release sometime this year. Now, if the rumors are true, we may have an official date.

A promotional poster has leaked for Destiny 2, which reveals a potential release date. As of right now, this is only a rumor, but we can’t say that it doesn’t look legit. NeoGAF has the scoop.

In 2014, Bungie stepped away from the Halo franchise to work on a new IP, Destiny. Before its release, the hype behind this game was massive and it’s safe to say that they didn’t deliver on multiple fronts at launch. That being said, they’ve made up for it with great downloadable content and adding more features as time went on. Now, we have Destiny 2 to look forward to and we’re hoping they don’t make the same mistake.

Luckily, much like the first game, it also looks like we’ll be able to test it out before launch with a beta. It gives players an idea of what to expect and the developers can hear out thoughts, which helps them polish the game that much more.

Check out the new poster below:

According to the poster, the game will release on Sept. 8. This is very believable and we expected it to release around this time anyway. Destiny also released during that time.

However, as of right now, we should take this with a grain of salt. It does look legit, but it isn’t official yet. Like always, we should wait on a confirmation from Bungie. Now, let’s talk about what they need to get right.

If they want us to buy this game, then they need to sell us a complete one. The lack of content at launch for Destiny was truly heartbreaking. Honestly, we played the game for a month and basically never touched it again. We’ve heard great things about all the DLC, but we never really gave it another shot. It doesn’t help that they force us to pay extra just to have the complete experience.

Truthfully, we’re hoping Bungie rights their wrongs here. If they do this, we may be in for one of the best games of the year.
