Closer

1) Kenley Jansen, Los Angeles Dodgers – Players can’t go wrong with choosing to play with the Dodgers in this year’s game, as Jansen is the game’s highest-rated closer at 95.

2) Zach Britton, Baltimore Orioles – There shouldn’t be any concerns over whether or not Britton gets used by players in this game. With a rating of 92, Britton is sure to get into every game.

3) Aroldis Chapman, New York Yankees – He has re-joined the Yankees after winning the World Series, and should see plenty of action in The Show with his 92 rating.

4) Wade Davis, Chicago Cubs – The man who has stepped in to fill the void left by Chapman is just one point below Chapman in this year’s ratings, coming in at 91.

5) Mark Melancon, San Francisco Giants – Coming in to hopefully ease some of the bullpen pains that San Francisco felt in 2016, Melancon has an 89 rating.

Catcher

1) Buster Posey, San Francisco GiantsThe Show staff thinks Posey is the best catcher in baseball, and by a wide margin with his 92 rating.

2) Jonathan Lucroy, Texas Rangers – The highest-rated catcher in the AL comes in at 87, five points below Posey but still with a comfortable margin over the crowd of players on this list.

3) Salvador Peréz, Kansas City Royals – He should be ready for Opening Day despite an injury in the WBC, and with his overall 84 rating, his face will grace many televisions during The Show game play this year.

4) Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals – Seemingly ageless, his 84 matches Peréz’s due to his ability to call a game and control the opponent’s running game.

5) Wilson Ramos, Tampa Bay Rays – Ramos is part of the third tier of catchers in The Show, also sporting an 84 rating.

Honorable mention: The Yankees’ young phenom Gary Sanchez carries an 84 rating as the season begins.
