Drew Galloway appears at NXT TakeOver: Orlando
Before the NXT Championship rematch between Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew Galloway appeared at NXT TakeOver: Orlando.
Just like Bobby Roode did at NXT TakeOver: Dallas last year, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Drew Galloway made an appearance on Saturday night in Orlando for NXT TakeOver: Orlando.
Galloway, known as Drew McIntyre during his run with WWE, was sitting in the front row and was pointed out by WWE’s cameras before the main event between Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship.
To the surprise of no one (being that Orlando is the home of Impact Wrestling), Galloway got a nice pop in front of the sold out Amway Center when he was shown to the crowd.
Galloway (McIntyre) got off to a nice start in his first run with WWE by winning the Intercontinental Championship, but after that, he disappeared into the abyss of the mid-card on WWE programming.
In recent times, he has spent time with Impact Wrestling (becoming a TNA World Heavyweight Champion during his run there) and some time on the independent circuit as well.
After it was announced that McIntyre was in the building, the father of NXT took notice of his appearance.
Usually, when a star makes an appearance at an NXT event, it doesn’t take long to see them actually in the ring in some form or fashion with Triple H’s product. Just look at Bobby Roode. Last year, Roode was watching Nakamura wrestle Sami Zayn in one of the best matches in professional wrestling in Dallas before WrestleMania 32. Now, he’s wrestling Nakamura in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Orlando.

Could we be seeing Drew McIntyre in some form or fashion with NXT soon? That remains to be seen, but never say never with pro wrestling.
