Ranking all 25 WrestleMania matches of The Undertaker

15. The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon – WrestleMania 32
This match still doesn’t make a ton of sense to me as Shane McMahon still got a job following his loss to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. It’s actually really sad that one of The Deadman’s final WrestleMania matches had to come against the boss’s son but that’s what we got at the biggest WrestleMania in history. And at least he looked a little bit better than he did in his final outing.
You knew this match was going to get a good amount of time, especially with it being contested inside — and outside and on top of — Hell in a Cell so things were a bit slow early on with The Undertaker using his power to his advantage in the early moments. He whipped Shane into the cage in the first few minutes and hit his signature leg drop on the apron before hitting an early Last Ride for a two count. ‘Taker then brought the stairs into the ring and slammed Shane onto them after a few minutes in a nice spot. But he then missed an elbow and that gave Shane a chance to hit a DDT as well as an elbow but ‘Taker came back with Hell’s Gate, which Shane was able to escape and turn into a Sharpshooter, which really didn’t look all that great.
Shane then hit a few punches and landed the coast to coast trash can spot, a move that will always impress me no matter how many times he hits it. But Shane only got a two count out of it and then went to the cage and tried to cut it open with bolt cutters before ‘Taker came to and put Shane through the cell onto the floor. Pretty decent spot there. Shane then got put through the announce table before fighting back with a tool box and he laid ‘Taker out on another one of the announce tables before heading to the top of the cage for his ridiculous elbow drop that ‘Taker was able to avoid. And yes, the table did have some padding underneath it but I don’t care. Shane taking that risk in his mid-40s was still pretty awesome to watch. The Undertaker got him back in the ring and hit a Tombstone to claim the victory after about 30 minutes, which was about 10 to 15 minutes too long as a lot of this dragged. But it was decent enough for what it needed to be. 23-1.
