11. The Undertaker vs. Diesel – WrestleMania XII

This was The Undertaker’s biggest WrestleMania match up to this point and this turned out better than I think anyone could have expected with these two big guys going at it. Maybe it’s because The Undertaker finally had a high-profile match on the big stage or maybe Kevin Nash wanted to showcase his skills before leaving for WCW but this was a good big guy vs. big guy battle.

The two brawled in the early moments and this one hit the floor pretty quickly and Diesel ate the steps before the action headed back to the inside. ‘Taker went for a Tombstone but Diesel avoided it so The Phenom actually used his speed to gain an advantage and hit a crossbody (weird), then attempted another but Nash was able to get out of the way of the second one before the action once again spilled to the outside. At this point Diesel was thrown into the ring post before coming back and whipping The Undertaker into the barricade, then a couple of times into the post before heading back inside.

Diesel hit a big boot and then a side slam for a two count before an amazing double boot spot that sent both men to the canvas. Very cool stuff there. We got a bearhug from Nash as both men came to but ‘Taker responded with a back suplex, an elbow and a nice clothesline from the top rope. Diesel was able to turn things around and hit a nice Jackknife Powerbomb but didn’t go for the cover. He then hit another one and finally went for the pin but ‘Taker reached up and grabbed him by the throat and got to this feet, only to receive a back suplex for his troubles. But this gave ‘Taker the chance to do his sit-up and he followed it with a nice leaping clothesline and a chokeslam. He finished off Nash with a Tombstone after nearly 17 minutes for his biggest WrestleMania win to date. 5-0.
