Third Round

95

Amara Darboh

Wide Receiver, Michigan Wolverines

Atlanta already has a deep receiving corps with the likes of Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Taylor Gabriel and Justin Hardy. However, the Falcons passing game cannot have enough weapons at its disposal for MVP level quarterback Matt Ryan.

The Falcons did lose Aldrick Robinson to the San Francisco 49ers and outside of a pair of Stanford guys, what is Atlanta doing at tight end? Frankly, Atlanta shouldn’t wait until the cupboard is bare to find another wide receiver to put in the offensive system.

Perhaps new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is more perimeter driven on the attack than was Kyle Shanahan, who loved to attack the middle of the field? With where Atlanta is picking in the third round at No. 95, it seems that receiver would be the pick to make.

Michigan’s Amara Darboh could come in and compete for playing time in the Atlanta receiving corps. There will be opportunities to make a difference at fourth or fifth wide receiver right away. Atlanta also has a gaping hole on special teams, as Eric Weems has left the team. That could force Hardy to play more special teams, possibly given Darboh more playing team early in a deep Atlanta receiving corps.
