Fifth Round

174

Davon Godchaux

Defensive Tackle, LSU Tigers

Defensive tackle is a position that Atlanta could look to address at any point in the draft. Since Grady Jarrett is becoming a star there as a former fifth rounder, why not go with another defensive tackle in the fifth round out of a traditional power?

LSU’s Davon Godchaux is dropping on some teams’ boards. For the sake of competition and potential upside, Atlanta taking him at No. 174 in the fifth-round could be the right decision to make with this pick.

Seventh Round

249

Ezra Robinson

Cornerback, Tennessee State Tigers

Again, Atlanta cannot have enough depth in its secondary. If the Falcons want to build the Dirty South version of the Legion of Boom, they have to keep building its secondary. A good late-round find for Atlanta might be cornerback Ezra Robinson at No. 249 in the seventh round out of Tennessee State.

For the foreseeable future, Atlanta may just target defensive players with their seventh round picks. The Falcons should go after guys that played at smaller schools to see if they are willing to play in the NFL with a massive boulder of a chip on their shoulder.
