NHL playoffs 2017: Wild vs. Blues TV schedule
The Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues will face each other in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Here’s a full television schedule.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are officially underway. In the first round, the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues will square off. Both teams have never won a Stanley Cup. Their Central Division rivalry is about to go to the next level. Since Minnesota is the second seed, they will get home ice advantage over the Blues, who are the third seed. This should be an interesting series and it could go either way.
For most of the first half of the season, the Wild were among the top teams in the NHL. They were even led the league in points for a bit. However, a slump lasting from February to March kicked them out of the top spot in the Western Conference. Minnesota has since righted their ship, winning the last four games of the regular season. Their +58 goal differential ranks second in the NHL, trailing solely the Washington Capitals.
On the other side of the ice, the Blues are coming off a dramatic regular season. It saw longtime head coach Ken Hitchcock begin his retirement early. Since his firing, Mike Yeo, a former Wild head coach, has gotten them back on track. This dynamic should be a fascinating one, as he didn’t have the best of departures from the team. Opposing Yeo will be Bruce Boudreau, who is looking to exorcise his playoff demons.
The two teams will officially start their first round series on Thursday. Here’s a complete television viewing schedule for their series.
