David Otunga

Grade: WC

Okay, I’m going to go ahead and give the actual “Who cares” grade here because I really don’t care that David Otunga and Byron Saxton have switched places. Neither one of them is never going to be the star of their respective announce team so it really doesn’t matter one way or the other. The question is that if they hadn’t announced it, would anyone have even noticed?

Heath Slater & Rhyno

Grade: C

This is probably a good move for Heath Slater and Rhyno as their time on SmackDown Live was pretty much done. But with The Hardy Boyz back in the company, Cesaro and Sheamus continuing to gel more and more every week, Gallows and Anderson being as popular as they are AND The Revival showing up, is there really a spot open for these guys. Yes, all of the stuff last summer with Heath Slater was a lot of fun and it was a great moment when he and Rhyno won the tag titles and the One Man Band got his contract, but there’s no way that can be recreated just because they switched brands.

Maybe they catch lightning in a bottle but I highly doubt it at this point. They’ll likely be used to get some people over, and maybe get a win or two here and there, but that’s probably about it.

Bray Wyatt

Grade: A+

I put the plus sign on here simply because of hope. Bray Wyatt has been one of the most intriguing characters in WWE for quite some time now, and it looked as if he’d finally gotten his big break when he won the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber. And his program with Randy Orton was the best thing on WWE television for a long time.

Then WrestleMania happened.

The match with Orton was so underwhelming and disappointing, and the images in the ring only made things worse. But here’s my hope. Earlier, I mentioned that the Intercontinental Championship had become the most important title on Monday Night RAW with Ambrose coming over, Owens leaving for Tuesday nights and not knowing when Brock Lesnar may show up with the Universal Championship. We know that Bray is getting his automatic rematch with Randy Orton in the House of Horrors match — whatever that may be — but it’s happening at Payback, which is a RAW pay-per-view. So perhaps Wyatt actually wins the title back and becomes the main man on Monday nights. He’s already teased a program with Finn Balor, and while it does look like Balor may have to spend some time on the sidelines with a concussion, the Demon King never lost the Universal Championship and getting a shot at Bray and the WWE Championship could be very intriguing come SummerSlam time.

Either way, Bray gets another chance to sort of reboot and while that may have to happen way too often, it’s still good for him and for Monday Night RAW.
