Second Basemen

High Salary Option

Brian Dozier ($5,300): The Twins will open the week in Arlington, within the home run friendly confines of Globe Life Park. They will also be opposed by lefty Martin Perez, who allows the long ball at a generous rate. All of this jives together well for Dozier, whose pedigree for hitting the ball over the fence is well known.

High Value Option

Joe Panik ($3,500): I was surprised to see Panik so far down the list of 2Bs today, as it could be a sneaky strong day for him. He’ll get to swing against Hyun-jin Ryu, who has been up and down on the year, and has produced a fairly steady line over the last week over so. Nice coupon grab here if you want to spend higher elsewhere.

Rank Em:

  1. Dozier
  2. Daniel Murphy ($5,600)
  3. DJ LeMahieu ($4,800)
  4. Roughed Odor ($4,700)
  5. Jonathan Villar ($4,800)

Shortstop

High Salary Option

Corey Seager ($4,200): This is a fantastic day to grab Seager, who could stand to have a big day against Matt Cain and checks in at a very, very enticing price as well. While his history against Cain is limited (3 at-bats), but any time he can be had at such a price level, take the bait.

High Value Option

Jordy Mercer ($3,200): Mercer has a nice matchup with Brett Anderson ahead of him, as he has previously homered against the lefty. He has been inconsistent in the past and provides an opening for an above average day from the mean that Mercer represents at the position.

Rank Em:

  1. Seager
  2. Trea Turner ($5,500)
  3. Trevor Story ($5,400)
  4. Elvis Andrus ($4,100)
  5. Addison Russell ($3,700)
