Calvin Ridley

WR, Alabama

It was an interesting offseason for the Dallas Cowboys, who utilized two 2016 NFL Draft picks to finish the regular season with the best record in the NFC. Once the season ended, it seemed like their entire secondary jumped ship, which led to the team focusing on defensive backs in the 2017 NFL Draft. The selected two very good cornerbacks in the second and third round, and now it is up to the coaching staff to get them ready to compete in a tough NFC East next season.

As they look towards 2018, they have to be concerned with the wide receiver position. In 2016, the Cowboys brought in a stud at quarterback, as fourth-round draft pick Dak Prescott would go on to win the NFC Rookie of the Year Award. Their first round pick was Ezekiel Elliott, a running back from Ohio State, and all he did was lead the NFL in rushing. They have to find their next star at wide receiver next year, and Calvin Ridley is as good as there is in this draft class.

Ridley has been a star since arriving on campus for the Crimson Tide, scoring seven touchdowns in each of his first two seasons. In an offense that is run-first, Ridley has proven to be one of the better wide receiver in college football, and his game should definitely equate to the NFL level. We fully expect him to leave early after his junior season in 2017, and the Dallas Cowboys should welcome the speedster with open arms.
