2018 NFL Mock Draft: Quarterbacks reign supreme
By Brad Weiss
For the first time in forever, the Cleveland Browns actually got their NFL Draft right. The Browns were dealing all weekend, and by the time the first round ended on Thursday night, they had collected three first round picks. Those picks were used on defensive end Myles Garrett (1), safety Jabrill Peppers (25), and tight end David Njoku (29), three players who should prove very valuable for the fallen franchise immediately.
In the 2018 NFL Draft, the first non-quarterback off the board should be Mike McGlinchey, a stud offensive tackle from the University of Notre Dame. This past year, there was no true franchise left tackle in the draft, but that certainly is not the case next year. McGlinchey should have been a top draft pick in 2017, but instead decided to give it one more year in South Bend, which was music to the ears of the fans of the Fighting Irish.
McGlinchey is a big boy, and despite his size, has incredible feet. He moves defensive lineman with ease, and would give the Browns a nice right tackle with Joe Thomas on the left side. Once Thomas retires, or moves on from the Browns, McGlinchey would move over to the left side, giving the organization incredible left tackles for 20 or more years. The Browns did the right thing in 2017, and with two more first round pick in 2018, the Browns may no longer be a laughingstock before long.
