Josh Rosen

QB, UCLA

It appears that the San Francisco 49ers pulled a fast one on the Chicago Bears during the NFL Draft, telling the Bears teams wanted to trade up to No. 2 to grab quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. In a stroke of genius, first-year general manager John Lynch traded down one spot, while picking up three more picks from the Bears. The 49ers picked at No 3, and then traded back into the back of the first round, selecting star linebacker Reuben Foster.

By the time the first round had ended, the 49ers had selected two star defensive players, bolstering their defense as they head into their rebuild. Next year, the 49ers should look to pick up their future quarterback, as the 2018 NFL Draft is loaded with signal-callers. Head coach Kyle Shanahan does incredible work with the QB position, and whoever they select, is heading into a perfect situation to grow.

That pick should be Josh Rosen, who is going to be back to 100 percent after an injury-riddle 2016 college football season. Rosen was a beast as a freshman in 2015, throwing for nearly 3,700 yards, while completing 60 percent of his passes. The 49ers need their franchise player at the quarterback position, and as a kid who grew up and played college ball on the Golden Coast, Rosen would instantly be a fan favorite.
