3. Jeurys Familia

After returning from a 15-game domestic violence suspension, Familia seems to be settling back in as the Mets’ closer with two straight saves. He led the majors in saves last year with 51, and over the 2015 and 2016 seasons he converted 50 straight regular season saves.

Familia’s walk rate spiked in 2016, to 3.6 BB/9 from 2.2 BB/9 in 2015, and he has walked a batter per inning pitched so far this season. That points to continually walking a tight rope in the ninth inning, which is sure to be a point of stress for manager Terry Collins. Addison Reed filled in capably during Familia’s suspension, with four saves, so there is a backup option.

Bullpen arms are always in demand by contending teams as the trade deadline nears, which makes Familia, Reed and Jerry Blevins all potential trade candidates for the Mets at this point. But I’ll put Familia here, due to a slightly more favorable contract situation that includes one more year of arbitration eligibility.
