3. Adrian Martinez

Another state of California quarterback who has risen in the recruiting rankings is Adrian Martinez. He is a talented player who has multiple attributes that college coaches love.

Martinez is from Clovis West High School in Fresno, California. He is a four-star recruit who is the No. 170 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 7 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.

The scholarship offers continue to come in for Martinez.  He currently has 25 scholarship offers from just about every conference in the nation. The recruitment of this talented quarterback has been rocky, though.

In 2016, programs started to pay a lot of attention to Martinez. He received scholarship offers from middle-of-the-pack programs like California. Well, the Golden Bears impressed him enough to the point he decided to commit to the program on November 20, 2016.

This was a huge pickup for Cal considering they had just lost Jared Goff a year prior to the NFL. But, since Martinez is a member of the class of 2018, teams still had a chance to pull him away from his commitment. That is exactly what happened as more offers started to pour in from the likes of Alabama and other high-power programs.

About three weeks ago, on April 25, Martinez decided to back out of his commitment with Cal and open his recruitment back up. He is now being pursued hard by both Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Oklahoma would be a great fit for Martinez. They currently have Baker Mayfield in place for 2017, but when 2018 rolls around, the Sooners will be looking for answers at quarterback. This will give Martinez the chance to earn starting snaps year one, if he can beat out Texas A&M transfer Kyler Murray, more than likely.

Oklahoma needs a game changer at quarterback and that could be Martinez. We would bet he ends up with the Sooners and they continue a great run of football.
