Henrik Lundqvist is well-known to be a calm and collected character, and he proved to be just that when a fan at the IIHF World Championship yelled at him on Thursday.

Henrik Lundqvist is undeniably one of the best goaltenders in hockey today, if not the best. He is equally as cool and collected, both on and off the ice. Fans were treated to his famous smile, as he exposed his pearly whites when one fan yelled “Rangers suck!” at him on Thursday.

Lundqvist had just finished a 26-save win in the quarterfinals against Switzerland that earned him Player of the Game honors for Sweden. He stood there with his award, ready for the pictures to be taken, and one fan decided to share their opinion on the New York Rangers.

As shown by his smiling face, Lundqvist seemingly found this just as amusing as the rest of the hockey world (except maybe Rangers fans). This reaction proves that Lundqvist is, indeed, as cool as the other side of the pillow.

While the fan is obviously trying to stir the pot, it is safe to say that Lundqvist and the New York Rangers didn’t get the finish to the season that they wanted. The Rangers were picked to finish among the top three in the Metropolitan Division, which they didn’t. They were also heavily favored to advance past the Ottawa Senators in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, another failure on the season.

You would be hard-pressed to pin any of that on the play of Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist finished the season, a disappointing one by his standards, with a 31-20-4 record, a 2.74 goals against average, and a .910 save percentage. However, he found his form again in the playoffs for the Rangers, posting a 2.25 goals against average, and an impressive .927 save percentage.
