College Football Recruiting: Predicting where the top 5 uncommitted running backs will land
No. 1 – Zamir White
The No. 1 running back remaining in the class of 2018 is also the No. 1 running back in the nation. Zamir White has yet to make a decision on where he will be attending school but that decision is coming on June 27, 2017. He is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound recruit from Scotland County High School in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He is listed as a five-star recruit who is the No. 5 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina.
White has 24 scholarship offers and he should have more but many teams probably realize they didn’t have a shot at this talented running back. White has all of the powerhouse programs as his top teams. He is still taking unofficial visits to see which programs will get the five official visits he has left.
The top three programs to watch in the White recruitment are Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson. 247Sports has Georgia as the leader for White’s commitment but they aren’t big fish hunters like that. This caliber of a player won’t commit to Georgia.
Alabama is in the race for White but he won’t commit there. They will end up signing Asa Martin and that will bump White to one of the other two programs.
Clemson and Ohio State will end up battling it out for White. Each of these programs bring something different to the table. They are both national title winners and have great coaches. These areas are pushes in the recruiting process.

The area that sets one team apart from the other is developing talent and putting players into the NFL. While Clemson had Deshaun Watson get drafted this season, Ohio State has Ezekiel Elliot tearing it up in the NFL right now. With Urban Meyer and his history of developing players up at Ohio State, the Buckeyes win this recruiting battle and snag White.
