The college football recruiting world is top heavy with great quarterback talent, especially in 2018.

Getting a quarterback to lead your program is one of the most important goals in each and every recruiting class. That is why teams continue to pursue high-level players who are still left on the board.

There aren’t many top 300 players left for the class of 2018, and there are even fewer elite level quarterbacks. But, there are a handful of pro-style and dual-threat quarterbacks who are still wanted by top-notch programs from power five conferences.

Many quarterbacks have already committed to other programs at this point in the recruitment process. The No. 1 ranked quarterback in the nation, Trevor Lawrence, committed to Clemson back in December 2016.

The Penn State Nittany Lions received a huge committed when Justin Fields decided to pick them over teams like Florida and Florida State. He is a five-star recruit and the No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2018.

So far in the recruiting process, the top eight quarterbacks have already committed to their favorite program. But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t good quarterbacks still remaining.

Here is where the top five uncommitted quarterbacks will commit.

5. Brevin White

The state of California has a history of producing NFL-level quarterbacks. Brevin White could be in line to be the next great passer coming out of the state.

White is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound recruit out of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California. He is rated as a four-star recruit who is the No. 220 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the nation.

The recruitment of White has mainly been from the Pac-12 except for Tennessee and some smaller Division I programs. One team that could be a dark-horse in the recruitment of White is North Carolina.

White just got back from a visit to Chapel Hill and I wouldn’t doubt if a scholarship offer comes here in the next few weeks. This kid has too much talent for a team like North Carolina to pass up.

There is a lot to love about White’s game on the field. He is a quarterback that brings multiple dimensions to his role. The first attribute to point out is his ability to roll out of the pocket and still keep his eyes downfield.

When White feels the pressure he doesn’t pull the ball down and run it. He glides out of trouble and still keeps his eyes downfield so he can make a play. His ability to feel the pressure and still hit the wide receiver on a dime is impressive as well.

White has a level of maturity at the quarterback position that few college passers can match. The program that can snag this kid will get an undervalued player that should be ranked higher. Ultimately, his recruitment is wide open, though.

North Carolina did host White this past weekend, but there are other teams that are on this kid as well. In the end, it seems he will ultimately decide between the Tar Heels, Tennessee, Oregon State and Washington State. All of these programs bring something different to the table.

When White’s recruitment is finished, it appears as if he will end up choosing the Cougars. Not only does the 247Sports Crystal Ball have him going there at 100-percent, but Washington State has an offense that will enable him to thrive.

Last season, Cougars quarterback Luke Falk threw for 4,468 yards and 38 touchdowns, which ranked fourth and seventh, respectively. The Washington State offense spreads the ball and that is what White needs. He would also have an opportunity to get starting snaps as well.

Falk will be graduating after the 2017 season. That means Washington State will need a new starter for 2018 and no one behind Falk has proven anything yet. Tyler Hilinski is going to be the backup heading into this season and will likely be the man to beat in 2018. But, if White comes in and lights the world on fire, we would have no doubts he could start year one.

The recruitment of White is far from over, but the belief is he will ultimately end up with Washington State. This kid has the talent to be a great player at the college level and whoever lands him will be getting a special quarterback.
