P.K. Subban got bored during Stanley Cup media day, so he decided to ask teammate Ryan Ellis some questions during an interview.

The Nashville Predators are in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history. While there have been other significant contributors, two of the biggest ones have been defensemen P.K. Subban and Ryan Ellis. Every hockey fan knows who the former is, he’s that charismatic guy who wears the best suits ever and has amazing goal celebrations.

However, the casual NHL fan might not know who Ellis is. Some might even confuse him for a NASCAR driver by the same name. Subban went out of his way to try to get Ellis some much deserved attention by asking him questions.

He starts off serious, asking him about overcoming stereotypes about his height. Ellis is among the tiniest defensemen in the NHL, but he’s also among the best. Subban proceeded to troll his teammate by asking him question about his favorite teammate: himself.

This is why everyone loves him. Subban brings so much energy to the Predators, both on and off the ice. A Stanley Cup run can be very stressful. One of Subban’s gifts is his sense of humor, and he’s not afraid to use it to keep his teammates loose.

He should be with the Montreal Canadiens. The NHL’s most charismatic star should be in arguably the league’s second best market. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as the Canadiens traded him for Shea Weber. Nashville’s more than happy with the trade. Subban has taken the Predators to new heights, and he’s not taking a back seat role. Subban and his defensive partner Mattias Ekholm have been the Predators’ most reliable and efficient defensive pairing during the postseason.
