28. Rebel

There might not be a conference that has a stronger core of mascots than the SEC. Whether it’s the incredible showcase of live animals or the oversized animal costumes that mascots wear, this conference has strength in the category.

One of those classic mascots that are a legend is Rebel. The Ole Miss Bear is one of the cooler looking mascots but it’s also one of the most fun as well. Not too many bears typically are so friendly, but Rebel isn’t about to treat fans like The Revenant.

When it comes to goofiest mascots, it’s not fair to include the live animals, as they can rip some one’s throat out at any moment. Well, maybe not Uga. However, the Georgia mascot is one of the top overall in general.

Still, Rebel fits the different mold of SEC mascots and more of a traditional ilk. He might not be the most recognized in college football, but he’s one of the best in his conference. From purely a subjective standpoint on the term goofiest, Rebel is up there with Big Al and Albert the Gator.

Ole Miss has had a lot of personalities come through their program in recent years. Therefore, it’s only fitting that the schools have a mascot with as much personality as the players that take the field each week.
