3. Steph Curry ejection

In Game 6 of the NBA Finals last year, unanimous MVP Steph Curry fouled out and was ejected for throwing his mouthpiece. Steph picked up his sixth foul with 4:22 left in the game, and he was not happy. Steph expressed his frustration with the situation by heaving his mouthpiece into the crowd. Conveniently, he hit the son of one of the Cavaliers’ owners.

This was one of the pivotal moments that allowed the Cavs to come back from a 3-1 series deficit. There is plenty of debate about whether Steph deserved to foul out. Some of the foul calls were iffy, at best. Nobody has seen LeBron pick up multiple soft calls that result in him being ejected, especially in a vital Game 6 of a Finals series.

There was no shortage of controversy, and many believed the fix was in, including Curry’s wife Ayesha.

For some background, prior to this the last time Steph fouled out was December 2013. Interesting how the unanimous MVP of the league fouled out in a pivotal Game 6, in Cleveland. Tempers flared and Steph earned a fine for his actions.

The Warriors went on to lose that game, and Game 7 as well. The Steph ejection was a vital moment in the series. Anytime a team loses their best player it is hard to play like normal. His ejection primed a legendary Game 7, and helped set the table for this years’ heated edition as well.
