Someone is honoring the Jail Blazers by leaving free weed around Portland

Some kind soul in Portland is honoring the Portland Jail Blazers of the the early 2000s, leaving some free weed around the city.
Back in the day, the Portland Trail Blazers had some dudes on the roster who had a taste for marijuana. Collectively referred to as the Jail Blazers, this group was on a seemingly endless carousel of runs-in with the police. During that era, Rasheed Wallace, Damon Stoudemire, Qyntel Woods, and Zach Randolph were all arrested for marijuana-related offenses.
It was PR nightmare for the team and the NBA, but many fans remember that era with a mellowed-out fondness. Now one kind soul has taken it upon themselves to honor Sheed and his merry band of burnouts by leaving tins of free weed around the city.
The quotes on the tin are reportedly what Wallace and Stoudemire told police after they were pulled over in November of 2002. “No need to search the car because we already smoked all our weed,” is certainly a creative defense. It, unsurprisingly, didn’t work.
If you have happen to live in Portland and stumble onto one of these tins, you may have some concerns about lighting up the contents without knowing exactly where it comes from. Well, relax, @oregon_history, will put you at ease by explaining the source.
If that doesn’t set your mind at ease, then maybe this is the wrong free giveaway for you.
