3. Mr. Vick goes to Washington on Monday Night Football

While Vick would serve primarily in a backup role when he returned to the NFL in 2009, he was the reason that the 2010 Eagles would win the NFC East. Philadelphia went 10-6 in a season that starting quarterback Kevin Kolb went down. Vick stepped up and went 8-4 as the Eagles’ starter.

He would have his best season post-Falcons with the 2010 Eagles, earning NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors and reaching his fourth Pro Bowl. His greatest game in Eagles uniform came against a hated rival on the road on Monday Night Football.

The Eagles had already lost to the rival Washington Redskins at home in Week 4, 17-12. Philadelphia picked up momentum after their Week 8 bye with a home win over Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts 26-24 in Week 9. However, the Eagles needed a big win on the road in Landover to begin to stake their claim in the NFC East race.

Vick would marvel on Monday Night Football against the Redskins. He would complete 71.4 perfect of his passes (24-38) for 333 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Vick would finish with a ridiculous 150.7 quarterback rating for the game. He would rush for 80 yards on eight attempts for two additional touchdowns.

Philadelphia crushed Washington to the tune of 59-28. The Eagles would go on two win four of their next five games en route to the division title. Fate would have it that Vick would inevitably lose an NFC Wild Card Game at home to a team he stole one from back in 2002 in Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers. It’s cool, that Packers team would go on to win the Super Bowl in February.
