1. Vick gives Lambeau a Capital L in the 2002 NFC Playoffs

Though the stats of his were particularly flashy, Vick’s signature game as a member of the Falcons came in the 2002 NFC Playoffs. Atlanta went 9-6-1 in Vick’s first full year as the starting quarterback.

Making the NFC Playoffs for the first time since the 1998 Super Bowl run was a huge deal in Atlanta. However, Atlanta was dealt an impossible first-round match: the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field.

Up to that point, Green Bay had never lost a playoff game at Lambeau Field in the Packers’ iconic football history (13-0). Green Bay was quarterbacked by one of the best signal callers of his era in Brett Favre. This looked to be a no-win scenario for Vick and the Packers. Then the unthinkable happened.

Vick guided Atlanta to an improbable 27-7 victory in the Frozen Tundra to reach the NFC Divisional Round. The Packers were stunned, as they had previously beaten Atlanta at home in Week 1, 37-34. Vick would only completed 52 percent of his passes (13-25) for 117 yards and a touchdown, but is was the threat of his legs and the Atlanta defense that gave the Falcons a huge playoff win.

As a runner, Vick would scramble for his life in the snow for 64 yards on 10 carries. A dual-threat southpaw quarterback from a dome team went into Lambeau Field and gave the Packers a big fat L in the form of their first playoff loss at home ever. It’s a moment that helped solidify Vick’s legend as a transcendent quarterback in the NFL.
