5 reasons Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather should accept Triple H’s WWE RAW offer

Reason No. 4: WWE’s ratings suck right now, so why not bring arguably the most hyped bout in boxing history to your product?

RAW‘s world champion has been on one show since WrestleMania 33.

SmackDown Live’s world champion is mostly known for knocking out Finn Balor on a recent episode of RAW and then coming out of nowhere to win the company’s biggest title.

Alexa Bliss and Bayley just fought like 13-year-old children over the last few weeks. A man just won the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Do you see what I’m getting at here?

WWE is in a rough patch at the current time with SummerSlam still two months from now where they can really bring in some cash. The problem, and a solution at the same time, is that’s around the time of the McGregor-Mayweather bout. It’s actually before then, which works perfectly. The thing is, nobody’s going to be talking about SummerSlam. They’ll be talking about Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

But, ratings are ratings and WWE’s have continued to drop for weeks now. Brock Lesnar’s hardly been around and just doesn’t have the same vibe he had after ending The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania XXX in 2014. There’s been a few injuries, along with John Cena filming a show about Americans have some grit, which is the most Boston thing ever.

(Plus, everyone hates Roman Reigns. More than Cena. That may be a hot take, but it’s probably true. People are just tired of hating on Cena. He’s never going away even when he does actually go away.)

If HHH brings in McGregor and Mayweather, people will watch. Whether they’re die-hard fans, casual fans, boxing fans or sports fans in general, people will watch them. Vince McMahon can shell out the cash to get both of them on the television — which will be A LOT — and watch the ratings roll in with glee.
