Triple H is not necessarily a sane man. (Just go back and watch his feud with Kane and the parts about Katie Vick will show you that.) But, he’s a smart man. He knows where the money is. That’s why his offer of bringing the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather superfight is genius. Here’s five reasons why.

Triple H isn’t a businessman. He runs a business, man. (I swear to you that’s the only joke I’m going to say throughout this whole thing. At least for the next five paragraphs.)

In all seriousness, The Cerebral Assassin didn’t get the nickname by accident. He’s smart, he’s calculated and knows how to bring eyes to a product and money into his and his family’s pockets.

So, in an interview with Sky Sports recently about the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather superfight — that’s technically a huge mismatch on paper, but shhh … pay-per-view buys — it’s no surprise that The Game brought up the idea of the duo being on an episode of Monday Night RAW to hype up what’s going to be one of the most talked about boxing matches in the history of the sport.

“You say it is sports entertainment and, if they want to really showcase what they can do, I would invite both guys to come to Monday Night Raw,” Triple H said in the interview on the fight. “There is no bigger platform that they could have to show the world and tell the world, who they are, and why they are the man.”

So, with that being said, here’s five reasons why Triple H isn’t off his rocker and actually has an amazing concept that could bring in a boatload of ratings. We’re talking Monday Night War ratings. (At least for one week because, uh … yeah … things have been rather … oh, never mind.)

Let’s get into it, starting with this following an old concept to a degree.

Reason No. 5: It would bring a very Mike Tyson-esque element to the show

You probably remember Mike Tyson brawling with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on an episode of RAW is War leading into WrestleMania XIV more than his guest host spot a few years ago when RAW didn’t have a general manager at the helm.

Tyson, who was still a hot commodity as one of the most popular boxers of all-time, duked it out with the hottest name in the World Wrestling Federation at the time and it’s still seen as one of the best segments that WWE has ever done.

Why did it work? Because he was Mike freakin’ Tyson.

Conor McGregor is the most talked about UFC star today. The man held two titles at the same time. He told you he was going to do it and then did it. That’s what he does. He’s also a psycho who probably isn’t all there to some, but people love the man. He’s not dumb.

Floyd Mayweather is one of the richest people on planet Earth. He didn’t get there by not understanding how business works. He’s his own promoter and he’s been pretty solid at it for many years. No matter how fans feel about him, people watch him.

Now, put these two in the same ring on a sports entertainment show that’s completely scripted — most of the time — and watch the magic happen like it did with Tyson and Austin.

You can even integrate some actual WWE stars into the mix if needed to really bring that Tyson-type element to the segment. It would be talked about by every sports outlet in the world.

This is where you come in, Enzo Amore.
