2. Jrue Holiday, PG, New Orleans Pelicans

If Tom Thibodeau could create his ideal point guard it may very well be a splitting image of Jrue Holiday. A tough defensive guard who can hold his own on the offensive end and run a team efficiently. Per Mitch Lawrence of SiriusXM NBA Radio, the Timberwolves and Coach Thibodeau are looking at Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday, Jeff Teague and George Hill.

Jrue Holiday would be a serious upgrade over their current point guards on the roster in Ricky Rubio and Tyus Jones. Holiday had a solid season in New Orleans averaging 15.4 points and 7.3 assists per game and was a menace on defense, with his long arms tallying 1.5 steals per game. Holiday, Wiggins and Butler on the perimeter would be an offensive nightmare for opposing teams. He would improve their defensive rank from 26th last season to a new standard fast.

Holiday would also give the Timberwolves added shooting. He isn’t considered a great shooter but last season he hit 35.6 percent of his 3-pointer. Holiday is a good starting point guard. He shoots well, is a solid defender and reliable running an offense. He would be a huge upgrade at the position.
