3. Shaun Livingston, PG, Golden State Warriors

After Shaun Livingston’s career was almost ended due to knee injuries, he seemed to find himself again as a backup in Golden State. Backing up Stephen Curry, Livingston was part of the two-time NBA Champion Warriors and has been a key cog in their unbreakable system.

The Kings are in the market for a veteran point guard. They drafted De’Aaron Fox — who looks to be very special — and Frank Mason III. Joerger could still use a veteran who can show Fox and Mason the way and how to lead an offense at the NBA level.

There aren’t many options this summer, but one person that could be a great fit in Sacramento is Livingston. He might not be interested in joining a rebuild, but if the Kings’ front office can throw enough cash at him, there’s a chance he comes. Livingston plays in the Bay Area and Sacramento isn’t much further, so it could also be a logical fit to keep his family in the area.

For the Warriors, the backup point guard scored 5.1 points and dished out 1.8 assists in 17.7 minutes of action per game. It always felt like Livingston would come up with a key basket on the baseline when the Dubs needed it the most. His postseason experience would be invaluable for a young team and it’s the kind of signings that helped the Warriors three years ago.

At age 31, Livingston would love to get a big contract for the next few years, so if the Kings were to offer it, I’m sure he would snatch it up in a heartbeat. With fewer options on the open market, Divac would be smart to offer that cash to Livingston.
