Mike Evans

Wide Receiver, Galveston, Texas

The Los Angeles Rams did a few things prior to the 2017 NFL season to bolster their roster, including bringing in Robert Woods at the wide receiver position. The problem was, Jared Goff just did not do enough in his second season to turn the franchise around, and fans are already clamoring for a new main man under center. With the No. 2 overall pick in the Texas mock draft, the Rams brought in more reinforcements for Goff, selecting Mike Evans.

Evans has been a beast since being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft, after starring alongside Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M. Evans comes to Los Angeles with the kind of star power that this franchise needs, and his arrival should give Todd Gurley a bump in production. The big question mark heading into 2018 will be Goff, but with Woods and Evans on the outside, he should take a step forward.

Aaron Donald is an absolute playmaker on defense, and with Evans now in the fold, the Rams should see themselves win a couple more games during the 2018 season. Evans left a Buccaneers team on the brink of the playoffs, and will now have to start from scratch with the lowly Rams. He has the talent to turn around an organization, but will need Goff to play the way a former No. 1 pick should play if he is going to have the same kind of production he had with Jameis Winston.

This pick makes the Rams a lot better on offense, and with Evans being so young, the tandem of him and Goff should be fun to watch in La La Land for the next few seasons. If Los Angeles turns the corner in their passing game, Gurley should go back to being one of the more productive running backs in the NFC, making this team a borderline playoff team by 2019.
