Taj Gibson sign with Timberwolves: 5 biggest questions we have
By Trey Daubert
3. Finding Shooting
If there’s one thing the T-Wolves lack, it’s a premier shooting to space the floor. Minnesota appeared to be heavy players for the services of J.J. Redick but lost out the Philadelphia. Finding a two-guard that can shoot should be imperative at this stage.
The incumbent roster at this point could face some struggles in the shooting department. Jimmy Butler (.367 percent from 3), Andrew Wiggins (.356 percent), and Jeff Teague (.357 percent) are quality shooters but not elite by any means. KAT actually may develop into that role as a center after he hit .367 percent of hit outside shots. Giving the Wolves a consistent long range sniper should be on the to-do list.
Both Wiggins and Butler love to drive to the basket which should open up good looks from the permeator. No longer are the days where Ricky Rubio stands on an island unguarded! Some options on the open market include Kyle Korver, CJ Miles, Gerald Henderson, and Vince Carter. A savvy veteran that can knock down shots has to be a priority. Korver and Carter could be options if they decide the Timberwolves are a win-now destination (we will get to that later). A guy like CJ Miles could be a perfect fit if they lure him from Indiana. At 6-foot-6, Miles can play multiple positions and knocked down .413 percent of his outside shots. Now it’s time to go get one of these guys.
