4. Tampa Bay Rays

To the surprise of many, the Tampa Bay Rays have played exceptionally well to this point in the season They currently hold one of the wild card spots in the American League, and they are only 3.5 games back from the division leading Boston Red Sox.

The Rays have received great production from their batters thus far, but they could stand to upgrade their situation at second base. In comes Ian Kinsler, who could help the Rays maintain their high level of play. Acquiring Kinsler and shifting Brad Miller over to shortstop would stand to increase the productivity of an offense that’s already been putting up stellar numbers.

However, if Tampa Bay wants to be able to keep up with the Red Sox and the New York Yankees in their divisional race, then they will need to add a bit more help from outside of the organization. The Rays haven’t made the playoffs since 2013, so they should be looking to end that streak at the conclusion of this season.
