Charlotte Flair is expected to win the big women’s match at WWE Battleground on Sunday night, presumably heading into a feud with Naomi

The big women’s match at WWE Battleground on Sunday night doesn’t involve SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi, as she doesn’t even have a match on the card, at least not at the current time anyway. No, the marquee women’s match on Sunday night actually involves five women battling for the right to face Naomi at SummerSlam, as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Tamina and Lana will compete in a five-way match to earn the right to be the No. 1 contender. And now, we might have an indication of who’s walking out of Philadelphia and heading to Philadelphia with a title shot.

According to the Wrestling Observer (h/t WrestleZone.com), it appears as if the Queen herself will be walking out of the match victorious, as Charlotte is expected to come away with the win over the other four women in the match.

Considering the prestige a show like SummerSlam carries along with it, Charlotte is really the perfect choice here, especially if they’re planning just a one-on-one match in Brooklyn for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She’s arguably the best women’s worker in the company right now and has more than earned the spotlight in August.

It was also mentioned in the report that Charlotte has been acting more on the heelish side as of late to potentially prepare for a month-long feud with Naomi. We don’t know if we’ll get a full-fledged heel turn from the former Divas and RAW Women’s Champion, but Naomi will more than likely be teetering more on the babyface side of things in the program.

Then, of course, there’s a chance Charlotte might not feud with Naomi at all. Between now and SummerSlam, Carmella could very easily cash in her historic Money in the Bank briefcase, setting her up as the one to defend her title against Charlotte inside Barclays Center. Or, a 3-way could be set up, seeing as Naomi would be allowed a rematch, if that rematch doesn’t take place on an episode of SmackDown Live.
