3. Wisconsin Badgers (10)

The Wisconsin Badgers are used to flying under the radar. They are a boring team that relies heavily on the run game and their defense to get the job done. Their wins never look pretty.

That may be starting to change, as they are ranked 10 in the Coaches Poll.

The defense will once again be asked to carry this team for a chance at a division championship. They are tasked with replacing four starters, but are also returning some key players from injuries.

Gone to the NFL Draft are T.J. Watt and Vince Biegel. However, full seasons from Jack Cichy and Chris Orr on the inside will help supplement that. They also figure to bring in players in waves, as they are plush with depth all across the front seven and secondary.

Offense might be a challenge.

Alex Hornibrook is back as a redshirt sophomore and is the clear starter. He threw for 1,232 yards and nine touchdowns last season. That may not seem impressive, but he had some clutch throws when he was needed the most.

Bradrick Shaw is also the next man in line for the running back factory. He flashed his great talent last season. However, he wasn’t nearly consistent enough. He needs to put everything together in order to make opposing defenses fear the Badgers’ run game. If he can do that, watch out. Wisconsin will make it known they were underestimated again.
