FanDuel daily WNBA fantasy picks: Friday, August 11
High Value Guard
Shavonte Zellous – New York Liberty ($4,600) Shavonte Zellous has been the most consistent member of the Liberty roster outside of Tina Charles. Over the past five games, she is averaging 11 points, five boards and one steal. She is very well-rounded and is putting in a good chunk of minutes as well. When I said we need to find value, I should have specifically said Shavonte Zellous because I was mainly referring to her.
Bria Hartley – New York Liberty ($4,500) I am not a huge fan of Epiphanny Prince and Sugar Rodgers because you don’t know what type of players will show up when they step on the court. Sometimes they are good while other times, not so good. I am going to play it safe and run with Shavonte Zellous and Bria Hartley. Over the past five games, she is averaging a little over 20 fantasy points.
Renee Montgomery – Minnesota Lynx ($4,100) With Lindsay Whalen down for the count for a while, we have some minutes up for grab. I really liked Seimone Augustus but she burned me last game so i will hold a grudge and keep her out of this post. In all reality, Renee Montgomery always has the potential to go off even more so than Augustus. How many times have we not had her in our lineups and wished we had after watching her go nuts from beyond the arch? I am not going to sit back and watch Friday night and neither should you.
Next: The WNBA’s top 20 players, ranked
Bria Holmes – Atlanta Dream ($3,200) Bria Holmes is probably the best $3,200 player in the history of FanDuel, at least as it relates to the WNBA. I know Tamera Young is going to scare a bunch of people away from her but not me. I didn’t like Tamera Young in Chicago and I don’t like her in Atlanta, at least in regards to fantasy. Holmes is risky but she is the best option available when you are strapped for cash on Friday night. She might not get you 40 points but she could surprise you as well.
