Loser – Kevin Sumlin

After he was firmly in position to be the biggest winner of the week, Kevin Sumlin has now possibly pushed himself out the door. In what will go down as one of the most embarrassing moments in program history, the Aggies squandered a 34-point lead on the road.

They had the big lead in the final quarter and all they had to do was put their foot on the throats of UCLA. Instead, they let the Bruins come marching back and ended up putting their head coach in likely some hot water in the process.

Things haven’t been easy at all in a variety of ways in Sumlin’s tenure. Whether it’s losing recruits or now a big lead, Sumlin is going to have to turn it around fast if he is even afforded that opportunity at this point.

It’s hard for any coach to justify his team losing such a game on the road. This was a big nail in the coffin and he can’t afford to have many more of those. It’s a reminder that a game isn’t over until every second ticks down to the very end.

That same clock is ticking on Sumlin’s tenure at Texas A&M. Did the Aggies just speed his departure up with their epic meltdown. It’s going to be an interesting time in College Station to say the least.
