College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Top 25 after Week 2
No. 25: Utah Utes (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: N/A
The Utes should crack the Top 25 this week after back-to-back victories to open the 2017 season, including a win in the Holy War on Saturday night against arch rival BYU. The Utes shut out BYU in the first half and quarterback Tyler Huntley did just about everything for Utah against the Cougars in their annual rivalry game.
No. 24: Tennessee Volunteers (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 25
After a double-overtime thriller in Atlanta to open the season against Georgia Tech, the Vols kept the momentum going in a short week in their home opener against Indiana State in a 42-7 blowout. Quinten Dormady completed 13 of his 18 pass attempts for 194 yards and two touchdowns in the 35-point win for the Vols, who are still currently scheduled to play Florida next week in The Swamp.
No. 23: Florida Gators (0-1)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 22
Florida’s game against Northern Colorado was postponed because of Hurricane Irma heading in the direction of the southeast portion of the United States this past weekend.
No. 22: South Florida Bulls (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 21
South Florida’s game against Connecticut was postponed because of Hurricane Irma heading in the direction of the southeast portion of the United States this past weekend.
No. 21: TCU Horned Frogs (2-0)
Ranking coming into Week 2: No. 23
The Horned Frogs lost a stunner to Arkansas last season, but bounced back nicely in this season’s matchup with a 28-7 victory on the road against the Hogs. It was a one-possession game entering the fourth quarter of this rock fight, but 14 points from the Frogs put this one away to help TCU improve to 2-0 this year.
