NC State Wolfpack 1-1

Last week: Won 37-20 over Marshall
Last rank: 10

After a poor performance in Week 1, the NC State Wolfpack bounced back on Saturday with a win over Marshall and benefited from a couple of bad losses from teams earlier on the list to move up a few spots.

The Wolfpack look like a team that could be moving up and down the rankings a lot in 2017, as they seemingly can’t decide whether or not they want to live up to the hype that surrounded them entering the year. They went from the fifth spot to number 10 on the rankings last week, and it’s tough deciphering where exactly to put them on the list after back and forth spans like they’ve had the last two weeks.

Duke Blue Devils 2-0

Last week: Won 41-17 over Northwestern
Last rank: 8

In one of the more surprising teams on the list, the Duke Blue Devils have looked very strong through the first two weeks of the college football season, and rolled to a huge win on Saturday to pour it on in 2017.

Led by Daniel Jones under center, the team won 41-17 over Northwestern with their quarterback leading the team in both passing and rushing on the day. Jones threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more, and proved why he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC, where there isn’t a lot of talent at the position on some of Duke’s conference rivals’ offenses.
