Pittsburgh Panthers 1-1

Last week: Lost 33-14 to Penn State
Last rank: 7

Well, well, well. Here we are with the Pittsburgh Panthers struggling some more in Week 2 of the season, and they couldn’t salvage any comebacks in their game against Penn State to stay higher up on the power rankings this week.

The Panthers may have lost to a tough, ranked team in the Nittany Lions last weekend, but it’s more about how badly they played on a big stage Saturday. They have a tough game with Oklahoma State coming up next week to worry about, and it’ll take a big upset win, or at least a better performance on the field, to make up for what they’ve done the last two weeks.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons 2-0

Last week: Won 34-10 over Boston College
Last rank: 9

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons don’t move in the power rankings this week after a win over Boston College, and it’s mainly due to who they played and how the others around them in the ACC did.

Boston College played horribly at home on Saturday, and it’s more that they lost the game than Wake Forest really dominating and winning that game, despite what the score said. It’ll take a bit more to impress anyone in the conference, and their game coming up against Utah State in Week 3 likely won’t be enough to push them over the edge in any rankings.
