Vita Vea

Defensive Tackle, Washington

The Buffalo Bills will pick twice in the first round next April, as they traded with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2016 NFL Draft so the Chiefs could go up and get Patrick Mahomes II. The Bills will look to bolster their defensive front with their second pick in round one, and Vita Vea is one of the best available players at that position in this draft class.

Vea is a big body, and is one of those rare players who can defend against the rush, and get pressure on the quarterback. He has played in some big time games with the Washington Huskies, including against a tough Alabama offensive line in the College Football Playoff last season. He has the size and feet to be a solid NFL player, and the Bills need all the help they can get on defense at this point.

Buffalo was able to pull off the win this past Sunday, but they did play the New York Jets. It is hard to gauge whether the defense took a step forward due to the fact they played the Jets, but they did show some signs of life, especially late. Vea plays with great passion, and on a Bills team looking to find their identity, he could be a building block for the future.
