3. The rotation

The Red Sox rotation is anchored by Chris Sale — a legitimate ace — and the hope is David Price returns soon, too. Having Sale and Price as your 1-2 starters for the end of the season and into the playoffs is a very good rotation.

Getting Price back will be important as you can count on him to give you a very good chance to win. Add in that with Sale, and as mentioned, you have a dynamic duo a top your rotation entering the playoffs.

Add in Rick Porcello, Drew Pomeranz, and Eduardo Rodriguez and you have a very good rotation to win you some games. There is no question this Red Sox pitching staff is a good one, as combined the rotation has a 3.77 ERA. Along with a WHIP of 1.252 and 72 quality starts from the five in the rotation right now, so that excludes David Price.

Even fifth starter Doug Fister is having some good starts filling in for the injured Price, so even if he can’t come back Fister is a fine replacement at the bottom of the rotation.

The Red Sox are a complete team and the rotation may be the best part of their roster.
