3. Cincinnati Bengals

If Marvin Lewis could have imagined the worst case scenario to start the 2017 season, Week 1 was that. The Bengals had owned the Ravens at home in recent years, but that wasn’t the case last Sunday. They were shutout 20-0 in an embarrassing loss.

Granted the Bengals were missing some of their best defensive players, but that had nothing to do with the lack of production on offense. Andy Dalton put together one of the worst performances of his entire career. Four interceptions and a 0.7 QBR is something he’ll want to forget about. The three-headed monster at running back produced just 77 total rushing yards and most surprisingly, star wide receiver A.J. Green was no where to be found.

I still think the Bengals have one of the more explosive offenses in the NFL, they just came up against a really good defense. They come up against another solid unit Thursday night, but one that had trouble against Blake Bortles and the Jaguars in Week 1. I expect the offense to get on track and finally put some points up on the board.

A win for the Bengals in Week 2 is crucial. The Steelers and Ravens look good early on and if the Bengals can’t keep pace in the division, they are going to be in trouble this season. A win gets the spirits back up as they’ll have a long week before a tough matchup in Green Bay.
