It is time to look into the NFL’s Week 2 matchups that you can target to maximize your fantasy points, both in daily and season-long formats.

Week 2 kicked off with a lackluster game between the Bengals and Texans. Both offenses look to be targets for those looking to stream defenses going forward. There are more matchups that are exploitable this week.

This week marks the first full slate of games, with last week’s cancellation of the interstate Florida game thanks to Hurricane Irma. These should make decisions a bit tougher because in season-long format you have an entire roster at your disposal.

Teams are looking to bounce back. Week 2 is critical with teams looking to avoid 0-2 starts. Only 9 percent of teams that start 0-2 have made the playoffs in the last ten seasons.

The goal with the matchups that are highlighted is to show either potential for scores or massive opportunity. Of course this usually means jumping on players facing bad defenses. It will also give insight into why those defenses are outmatched against the offensive player.

Luckily for fantasy owners there are two key games showcasing potent offenses and mediocre to bad defenses. Look for both the New England-New Orleans game and Atlanta-Green Bay game to be shoot-outs. There are also games that are mismatches on paper, another fantasy gold mine.

This column should help you make tough decisions when putting your line-up together. For the sake of consistency, we will also be sticking to PPR scoring for all players. ESPN standard leagues are now PPR, as well as daily fantasy at DraftKings.

Next up are the ten best fantasy football matchups to target in Week 2’s games.
