7. Javorius Allen

Allen was one of our waiver wire pickup suggestions for this week, and is a player who has a chance to repeat a good chunk of volume after receiving 19 carries in Week 1. Although Terrance West is the main man, Allen only saw two fewer carries than the starter and provides a slightly different style of running to their pure north-south back in West.

This weekend, the Ravens take on the Browns, and while we can’t expect a repeat shoutout (the Cincinnati Bengals may have the worst offense in football), Baltimore should be able to shut down Cleveland and their rookie quarterback, and holding a lead fits their game of pounding the ball on the ground like nothing else. Cleveland were stingy against the run in Week 1, but the Steelers were able to exploit other options in the air while the Ravens will focus all of their efforts into running the ball.

With Joe Flacco still slowly returning from an injury that kept him out of preseason, and against an opponent they should beat, feel free to start this Ravens runner and it may pay off. West will get the start, but Allen could be eased in more than we anticipated with Danny Woodhead now on IR.
