Arkansas Razorbacks (1-1)

Last week: Idle
Last rank: 12th

With the Arkansas Razorbacks not playing in Week 3, that’s not great for Bret Bielema or his football team. Sure, they’ll have two weeks to get ready for SEC West Texas A&M in the Southwest Classic, but that loss in Week 2 versus TCU was still pitiful.

In a way, this Southwest Classic between Arkansas and Texas A&M could be a loser leaves town match. Bielema and Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin are on the hot seat. While Sumlin’s Aggies lost on the road to UCLA, the Hogs looked disinterested at home versus TCU. Are we sure Bielema survives this season in Fayetteville?

South Carolina Gamecocks (2-1)

Last week: Loss vs. Kentucky, 23-13
Last rank: 4th

Just when we thought that the South Carolina Gamecocks were going to challenge the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC East, they couldn’t hang at home versus Mark Stoops’ Kentucky Wildcats. Hats off to Stoops and his boys for playing hard in September. Big Blue Nation should have another bowl team in Lexington.

The problem with Will Muschamp’s team is that its best weapon in Deebo Samuel is out for the year with an injury. It’s one of those injuries that just ruins a team on a fall Saturday. The Gamecocks should bounce back versus Louisiana Tech on Saturday. Losing Samuel for the year puts even more pressure on young quarterback Jake Bentley to get it done.
