Tennessee Volunteers (2-1)

Last week: Loss at No. 23 Florida, 26-20
Last rank: 7th

That was a bad loss for the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 3. Yes, the Florida Gators were ranked too, but Tennessee is 2-1 and probably should be 1-2. While they caught a break in Week 1 in double overtime versus Georgia Tech, the Volunteers gave up a game-winning Hail Mary in The Swamp.

Though head coach Butch Jones has brought mid-level stability in Knoxville, that’s just not good enough for the Rocky Top faithful. Expect Tennessee to bounce back against UMass this weekend, but this doesn’t look like a team that will play in the SEC Championship this year. This team is too undisciplined to play in a big time bowl game.

Texas A&M Aggies (2-1)

Last week: Win vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, 45-21
Last rank: 9th

The Aggies are actually in a better spot than SEC West rival Arkansas heading into the big game in Jerryworld. Sure, the road loss to UCLA looks worse after the Bruins lost on the road in Memphis last week. However, the Aggies have rattled off two wins since collapsing in the second half in Los Angeles in Week 1.

This game between the Aggies and the Razorbacks has massive implications in the SEC West. Not with who will challenge the Alabama Crimson Tide at the top of the division, but which of these teams will have a new head coach next year. The loser will be sixth in the division, ahead of only Ole Miss on probation.
