Winner – Kevin Sumlin

If it wasn’t for a huge collapse against UCLA to begin the season, Texas A&M would be talked about in a much different light right now. Everyone would be talking about an undefeated team and where they ultimately could go.

Their record isn’t unblemished and the sting of that ugly loss has worn off a bit but still exists. However, they did what they had to do on Saturday, and pulled off an overtime win over the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Three straight wins is exactly what Kevin Sumlin needed after that Week 1 performance. Now, two of those wins were against teams they should have beat anyway, but they helped them pick up some momentum into this week’s performance.

3-1 isn’t going to suddenly save his job by any stretch, but it’s a start. He’s going to need to keep stacking wins against quality opponents but he has to like his chances of doing so if he looks at his schedule.

The Aggies have plenty of home games coming up and one against Alabama. While that game shouldn’t determine whether or not he keeps his job, it should come as no surprise if they take care of business in the rest of those home games. They do that and suddenly this team is looking at a much brighter outlook than they had after that first loss.
