Loser – Bret Bielema

In a game like Texas A&M’s overtime win over Arkansas on Saturday, there is always going to be a hard fought loser. In this case, it is Arkansas coach Bret Bielema. Part of the intrigue of this game was knowing that one coach on the hot seat was going to leave with a loss.

While his team was there until the end, it is another conference loss for Bielema and the Razorbacks drop to a losing record with a huge game in front of them. They’ll play New Mexico State before getting back into conference play.

After that, Bielema’s SEC record could really continue to take a dive. Games against Alabama and Auburn in back-to-back weeks are enough to make anyone’s head spin. After a tough loss and more to pile on, the program now has three out of four on the road after their home tilt against New Mexico state.

At the end of the day, Bielema has been in this spot before. He also seemingly has been able to pull himself out of it many times as well which is a credit to him.

Still, Alabama and Auburn along with a road trip to South Carolina will be the ultimate test here. He’s going to need his team to rise up and take a game or two they will be underdogs in to help his chances.
