9. Jamaal Charles

This is not a pretty option, but the Denver Broncos running game cannot be understated. Against Dallas they put up 380 yards and 42 points as a team and despite playing second fiddle to CJ Anderson (who is playing great football), Charles has still managed 19 carries, 86 yards and a strong 4.5 yard per carry average. The NFL’s all-time leader in that category (with 5.4) has still got what it takes to have success at the highest level.

Buffalo currently have a top-five defense in every statistical category, but a large part may simply come down to the opposition that they’ve faced and lack of ability of those opponents to create a strong offensive output. We know the Jets are woeful on offense, and Cam Newton hasn’t looked at his best this season and was misfiring last week against the Bills. Both Jonathan Stewart and Christian McCaffrey struggled running against this Buffalo front, but what happens when they face a top unit at home this weekend?

The signs point towards this being a Denver win, and I expect them to build a lead and follow that by running the ball straight into the heart of Buffalo’s defense. The Broncos are one of the early favorites in the AFC, and the Bills could be put in their place on Sunday. Charles should see volume, and is capable of breaking a big one.
